The village is surrounded by two rivers, one of them being the Kalez River and Rangsang and the scenic beauty is a true heavenly abode with small houses having colourful gardens and terraced green farms all around, and the place depicts a picturesque village on the laps of the enigmatic mountains. If we are lucky and the weather is with us, then the Kanchenjunga too appears in all its glory at Upper Martam. The place speaks for its pristine village life and exquisite natural surroundings.

HeeBermiok, Uttarey and Rinchenpong, Kaluk Chayatal, Pelling are the adjoining places that can be added to the list too. The quaint village was once a preferred and revered spiritual hub of the Limbu folks. The village ground still holds the image of its made spiritual past within the style of the temple ‘Yuma Samyo Manghim’ that was engineered by the followers of this faith. Martam has quite a number of waterfalls and The Srijunga waterfall is one of them. A series of caves set on the banks of Reshi stream has its own historical significance which is set close to Martam. The caves are referred to as Srijunga Phuku.

Srijunga Mangheem, Srijunga Cave and falls, Barsey bush Sanctuary, Changay Falls, Hee Khola and Resum religious residence are the other places of attraction that can be visited too. Cardamom plantations, the hilly paths, the winsome waterfalls and the rivers trailing across create an enticing atmosphere.
